Default belt ?

i am thinking of gettin a grizzly and asked one of my friends about it...

he said haveing a belt is bad, that I should get somethin w/o a belt such as honda rancher
so is there any disadvantages to haveing a belt besides gettin it wet?

Default belt ?

I have a belt system on my Kodiak and have no issues with it. I have gotten water in the belt compartment but that's only because I was up to my handlebars in water. It takes like 2 minutes to be up and running again provided that you bring a 12 mm socket with you. The rancher is a great atv with a good track record. I would not be afraid of a belt atv if I were you. The Yamaha belt system is very reliable and I have never even had to go into the compartment (at least not yet). Before you rule the belt system out take on for a test drive. I don't think you will be disappointed. One major advantage of auto atv's is the fact you are always in the right gear no matter the terrain. I have owned both auto and manual and with out a doubt I'd go auto again.

Good luck and happy shopping.

I agree with Kodiak400. We run a grizzly660 and have had nothing with good luck with the belt system. It's a great bike and very reliable.
