Im outside trying to put this thing together and it just wont fit over the cam even when hit with a hammer. Anyone got any ideas?

 

Did you remove the cam tensioner ***'y???

You should have a plug on the the side of your cylinder near the cam chain. You will need to remove it to give you enough slack in the chain to install the gear in the chain then the gear on the cam. Be careful tighening up the cam bolts...........that ***'y is a little delicate.

You don't need a hammer to do the install.

I got it, we used a bit from a head porting set my dad had in back. The hole in the sprocket was just too small for the new cam. So much for fit and finish. Thnx for taking the time to look the stuff up for me though.

 

Good.........I had a hard time getting mine on as well when I was putting my engine back together again.

Once I removed the Cam Tensioner, it was easy. Live and learn.
