Over Filling Raptor Oil? GOOD? BAD?
HoundDog06 is on track, but not entirely correct. You are supposed to warm up then engine, shut it off, then check it in a "few minutes". Not immediately. Page 3-20 of the service manual. Also, when adding oil during an oil change, do it in 2 parts. First add 1.5-1.75 quarts. Start the engine and rev it 3-5 times. Shut it off, and add the remaining oil. Mine seems to like exactly 2 quarts with an oil and filter change.

take it out and get it right. mine takes about 2.45 with oil and filter and about 2.2 without it. i sure wish i made your mistake instead of mine this weekend. i reluctantly had to buy the oil in a gallon jug instead of the quart bottles. needless to say it was 6am and i wasnt fully awake and when i put only .9 quarts in i let it run for about 8 seconds thinking i had 1.8 in there because when i do oil on my truck i use the 5 quart jug and when its down to three quarts left that would equal two quarts used and not one in my case. i shoulda realized when i pulled the stick expecting the oil in the rezzy to be high and it wasnt that something was amiss. i guess i just thought it began to run through the cycle before i started teh engine. o well, good luck.
Something tells me these engines arent as delicate we all think. i hear people overfilling their raptors by over a quart and then i hear from other people they drove theirs for ten minutes to get somewhere without any noticable oil on the dipstick. so who knows. have a good day, later/warrior86

Where exactly is this screen located in the reservoir and how do you get it out? I have not run across this screen but would definitely clean it with each oil change if it plugs. Thanks for the heads up on this.
Thanks
