I agree........but the power went down when they stopped using the 5.0 now they use the 4.6 and it is a disgrace......unless you get either the 32valvue mach one........or the supercharged cobra.......they aren't a disgrace......I have driven all of em......I sale them.....LoL

the 4.6 isn't a bad engine......it is very reliable actually......but it isn't the fastest thing on the road.......
I wish they would go back to the 302's

Well im much more of a car guy then i am a quad guy..
Me too, I definitely have alot more cash wrapped up in performance goodies for my Mustang, my wife's turbo AWD Talon, and my F150 than all of our four wheelers. As a matter of fact, I just spent about enough to buy a 250R on my Mustang this week just to get ready for the Fastest Street Car Shootout this weekend at Cordova. Nitrous, tires, rebuilt the rearend, welded up torque boxes, etc. all gets kind of expensive!

You cannot even call one company an American company and another foreign any longer. Everything is globalized now.
Looking at domestic versus foreign content on a car's window sticker is kinda surprising.

The 4.6 GT was a straight up turd for the 96-98 years.
When the 4.6 went in the stang in 96 Coletti said "The power is coming,be patient". He was not lying.
The 99 2valve changed things quite a bit.
I've seen them go anywhere from 13.7-14.0@100-102 consistently in bone stock trim.
Not many 302GT's did that stock......ESPECIALLY the 94-95GT.
Slap a blower on a 99-03GT and you will get much more power than you would have on a 302 equipped GT. That goes for the better flow of the heads.
I own a 302,and I love it,but I give due credit to the 99+ GT's and the 4.6 4 valve motors.

Personally,I'll take an M5,thanks.

My car has run a best of 13.2@107 with a 1.96 short time.
I've never used a slick or DR,so I'm trading a lot of rubber at the start in place of ET.......hahaha.

Nice times, you sound like a pretty good driver. I know at our local track, anything better then a 2.2 60ft is hard to come by on street tires! My best time, 13.8@98 w/ 1.860ft came with ET streets. My car should run alot quicker, but i beleive my bottom end is shot, low compresion!

Damn!!! WE were headed to Cordova this weekend - with the stang in my post above, in True Street class... how'd you guys do??

We hurt a piston at World Ford Challenge ending up in third place (Wild Street class). Got it back together but the same piston let go during break in at the local icerink...

:-(

That 1.96 short time was a once in a lifetime thing for me.
most of them are 2.1's actually.
And honestly,I would say I am only an average-talent driver. I have Nitto 285's on the back of my car so it should hook up fairly well. Just not well enough to make a hard launch.....hahah

I'm currently resisting the urge to run 275 Nitto Drag Radial's on the back full time and slap in the FRPP clutch I have sitting here.
Then comes the alcohol injection(www.snowperformance.net) and adn upgrade from 10-14 psi.

Do you guys think I could make my 1990 F-150 regular cab short bed 2 wheel drive kinda fast? It has a 302 and so far the only other trucks it has lost to is a 2002 Ram w/ the 360 and a 1997 Silverado w/ the vortec 350. I also have a spare 302 out of an 80's Lincoln, don't know how good of condition. Thinking of building it up and then, when it is done, swapping them out.

My family also has a '79 Mustang coupe. I don't think it was the best body style they ever made but it has 55,000 miles, a 302, and it is an automatic. It will never be a looker, but I think it would be fun to make it a sleeper. (if that is possible, its tires are like 3 inches wide)

Anyways, for now I am paying off the nitrous on the Raptor, so I guess it will have to wait.
