Which is the better atv, the Wolverine 4x4 or the Eiger 5-speed 4wd?
Which on is better in the mud
which one is faster
and which one is more Reliable
They are the same price

 

wolverine is the best for everything without a doubt

 

I would go with the Eiger, the wolv is getting a little long in the tooth......time for yamaha to do an update, JMO.

Never ridden a Wolverine, but I have had great luck with my Eiger. Both are probably great machines. Ride both, then decide. I didn't even consider any Yamaha or Honda because I spent about 30 minutes at the dealer, and not one person even offered to help me. Didn't want to have to go back to that type of place for warranty issues, etc.

 

the eiger is problably more versitile of the two and a better all around machine
but youll have more fun on the wolverine

 

both are good, cant go wrong with either.

 

I just debated this myself. I had a Wolverine back in '96 and didn't care for it because of the FT 4x4. Just made it really boring to ride compared to the sport quads I was used to. Flash forward to the present and I'm in the market for another 4WD. I considered the Wolverine mainy because of the light weight and that you can mod it for part time 4WD. Thing is I also remembered how worthless the stock 23" tires were and I would want at least 25". The Wolverine is geared higher than most 4x4's so I figured it would have trouble pulling larger tires up hills or in deep snow and mud. After spending a weekend on a relatives Eiger 4x4 manual, I decided to buy a left over '04. The only bad things about the Eiger over the Wolverine for me is it weighs 80lbs more and has a drum rear brake. Otherwise it has good power, selectable PT/FT 4WD, dual range tranny (a plus for big tires), great fender protection, stock tow hitch, really good suspension, spin on oil filter and 25" tires stock. I don't know how it compares to the Wolverine acceleration or powerwise but the Eiger had good power.

Yamaha has a good thing with the Wolverine but it really needs an update because quads have come a long way since '95.
