Well I wouldn't let black in the exhaust tip bother me too much. If anything, you got a leaner mixture by putting the pipe on.
If it's running good, then I would leave it alone. If your hunger is for more power, then buy a Pro Flow kit with a K/N or foam filter and a jet kit. Take the airbox lid off, get a little filter for the tube that hooks up to your snorkel and jet it according to the directions in the jet kit.
As far as four strokes making the most power, they like being a little on the rich side rather than a two stroke, which likes the mixture a little on the lean side.

I don't see much point in putting a pipe on without opening up the airbox also.Do the airbox mods Yoshi recommends by cutting (2) 1 3/4" holes in the lid. You don't need a jet kit. Yoshi recommends 150/155 Mikuni jets. Don't change clip position or anything else. Set your idle fuel screws at 2.5 - 3 turns out. You will like the results. I do
