that High of an octane is not needed even with 12: 1 compression. With the additives in ulimate 4 with my 12:1 piston I still do not get detination. Even m1 at $15 a gallon only has 90 octane.


The fuel is more stable and the motor runs cooler.

 

Also keep in mind motor octane and research octane are totaly different numbers. 90 motor octane is around 100 research octane.

 

Will I hurt anything if I run this stuff in my 10.75:1 Raptor? Should I run it mixed with premium pump gas or straight? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Are you talking of the Ultimate 4? It won't hurt a thing and as many have stated might even give you up to a 6% increase in power. It did not do that for my 11:1 Raptor at least not that I could tell. Run it strait or mixed. It's only 92.2 octane so mixing isn't going to gain you any real octane advantage.

 

Quick note about c12, this fuel has a lower sp gravity which means it will flow more and does cool the engine more, i run it 1 gal c12 to 2 gal. of pump gas and after trying all sorts of float adjustments, modification and finally and most impotantly running a hotter plug my engine is running like a screaming beast on this c12/pump fuel mix. BTW the leaded fuel burns cleaner than the unleaded fuels like VP MS103 which I did think the engine liked as much even with jetting changes and noted the increased exhuast residual.

 

rejet to use straight ultimate 4. you will have no problems.

 

I run aviation fuel.... its only two buck and some change a gallon..... trick is to run it lean..... gave me the same performance as vp4 and runs just as cool.....
