What does it run at the track? What kind of dyno numbers has it put down? If you don't know, I'm calling BS. Stock Lightnings run low 13s, and guys on the FFW circuit are running mid 10s with some work done to them. If you have a truck that fast, you'll have some documentation on it.
"stock they aren't that impressive"
Low 13s isn't that impressive? WTF do you drive? lol
True, they run well into the 12s with a new mass air meter, air filter and exhaust, but any truck that will bust out 13.3s straight off the showroom floor while maintaining it's towing capacity is one bad machine!
Guys, there are Powerstroke deisel trucks and vans running 12s at the World Ford Challenge. I know that some Cummins trucks have done it too, but you just won't see GM oil burners running that fast.

Mark me at least 1 for GM.
We have 1 Yamaha(96 wolverine) and 5 personal GM: 02 4x4 duramax crew cab dually(the hauler of the camper and horse trailer, I think its also the fastest one of the trucks, wasn't stock for long ),
03 4x4 crew cab HD chevy(moms truck, stock 6.0),
01 Sonoma 2wd( the sisters truck, really low for a stock truck handles like a sports car),
and I have a 92 Chevy full size V6(the college ride/weekend drag racer(18.2@70mph 1/4 i think, not bad considering 150k miles and at about 5000ft elevation for a v6)/ATV hauler)
and a 69 GMC(in the resto process, high school truck/drag racer/ATV hauler)
1GM worktruck (old, old of the most beat trucks i've seen), 3 Dodge worktrucks (diesels) everything but the engines seemsto be falling apart on the two newer ones and the old one eats shift forks. I think all the fords are gone.
Cars we have 1 66 Olds 442( restoring, 455 w/M21 4 spd), 1 65 plymouth satellite(nice restored car), one 67plymouth belverdere 2(sisters high school car, now dads. he just got nitrous for it ), 1 82 280 zx non turbo 5spd, and a totaled 91 firebird (was a parts car).
we also have a body a full size scout SUV thats in good condition on a 3/4 ton chevy chassis 4sale
My favorite truck (sold ,84 chevy crew cab dually loaded w/ hot 427 4spd, ram air, cowl hood, gear splitter tranny, it was the main tow vehicle, out towed a 02 dodge cummins w 5 tons of hay on each but it couldn't get past a gas station. One week later the new stock duramax did the same thing to the poor dodge ). I once had the '84 to 125mph and still had the high split of fourth gear and half the throttle left, but the front was felling lighter then a truck that big ever should.

There are only two things I don't like about the SS. One is that it is slower than a Lightning and is considerably more expensive, and the Second is that it is full-time all wheel drive. WTF? I don't know of one sport truck enthusiast who doesn't like to get some around a corner or do a sweet burnout every now and then.

Thats something you dont see very often, a 3/4 ton pickup smoking Mustangs and Camaro's.

You are correct! It's a real trip for anybody the first time they see a dually roll through the burnout box, stage and click off a 13.5. My Dad didn't believe me at all until he saw it for himself.
Also, that particular Duramax truck should have no problem running some good numbers at the track, as long as the tranny holds together. That Alison tranny was another issue with the HD GMs, at least for the first year. But I know all about first year turds, I have a '01 Raptor! lol
