Default Looking for opinons on building a 2/1 manifold

I am going to try my luck at building a manifold before I buy one. I have a list of questions if anybody would offer their opinon on I would be thankfull! If some of them don't make sense tell me.

1: Should it be more "V" or "U" shaped?
2: Is there any problem with using a rubber gasket in between the head and the manifold?
3: Should the right side intake runner be offset from the center of the carb to give that side more fuel? Or should it be centered?
3a: If not center how much off set should it have?
4: Is there any reason to have a nipple welded in it for a vaccume line?
5: I have an idea, but anybody have a good idea of how to shaped the right side runner to the same shaped as the port (since its not round)?
6: Is not using aluminum a bad idea? Why?

These couple are more carb related.
7: I don't know if my carb is comming with a boot to go from the manifold to the carb. Where do I find one if it does not come with it?
8: Is one style carb to manifold boot better than another? I.E. One that uses two clamps, or one that bolts on to the manifold and clamps to the carb.

Thanks for any help you can offer!!!

I guess you determined the grizzly manifold is not workable?

My carb should be here in the next 2-3 days.

Good idea for the gasket, I have just the thing!

No the Griz manifold WILL NOT work.

I think if you cut down some stocker boots with a band saw it will be better to use that to interface with the head. Maybe even get the griz manifold anyway and see if you can somehow mend the cut stock boots to a cut grizz intake.

It looks like the grizz intake is short but maybe a hair longer than the stock raptor boots, but they also sell a extension that goes back to interface with the carb. If you can make or cut some boots to interface with the head maybe just leave the extension to the carb off effectively moving the junction back to the carb but I would think you want some space between the carb and junction.

Just my thoughts. I dunno.

Ward-

7. PM me with the size and i will try to locate the boot for you
4. i would leave it off or run a nos line to it.
3. I would center it. FCR's run the same size jets on both sides and a lot of guys run the same size jets in there stock carbs
