How do the Banshee shocks work on the Rappy? I am thinking of trying some this winter when I lower it for my ice racing setup. I need a fairly stiff shock so I was wondering how the Banshee shocks work. Shocks don't work right with a front lowering kit. There is no sag.

 

Here is my 2cents on the lowing kits. They are great if you are going to drag or ride on mostly smoth ground. When you put them on the they will put the shocks at a lot more angle which make them almost useless. They will have little or no "rebound" when you push them down they stay down. This has been my experience with them. So seriously consider another route if you are going to be doing much trail riding. The durablue axle / wheel spacers are great. They will give you 5 inches of width in the rear, and like Bubba said that will give you ALOT of stablility! And if anyone says they are weak or will not last, you can laugh at them. They were the only things that survived on the rear end of my quad when it came off Delbarton. It bent the axle on both sides, broke the swing arm, bent the rims, and popped the tires, but the wheel spacers were fine. I would try either the wheel spacers or different shocks, but NOT the lowering kit.

Sorry to tell you this after you ordered them, and hope you like them! Just be prepared for a stiff front end.

flipping the linkage only works on 01's...and it will bottom out more often.

 

are you sure...i've heard several differnt people turnin the linkage around and dropping the rear of the Raptor.

 

When I first got my Rappy I had a Warrior with custom shocks (which are also the same as the banshees shocks) so I decided to try to put them on my Rappy and they fit perfact but they didn't perform well at all! They felt really stiff and made lots of noise and it seemed like I bottomed out alot easier. So I donno if that idea is the greatest, but it did lower it to about the perfact height! Hey Bubba. That sounds like what I need for ice racing. What do you mean by custom shocks? What were they?

 

They were Works Performance. I really don't know if you would want to use them, if your gonna buy shocks anyways just get ones made for the Rappy. I wasn't very happy with how they worked at all.
