Only the people who don't own a Dale think there is a problem getting parts. We have South Bay Moto. So if the article you mention says a Dale puts out 40hp and SouthBay's dyno says 32 and SB 450 kit and dyno says 48-50, what woould that be on the articles dyno??? Alot more then 50 since their dyno started w/8hp more........ www.southbaymoto.com/html/pages/cannondale_parts.htm South Bay is also good w/ Gas Gas and exotic brands....

the only weakness i've found on my cdale is the large gap between 4th and 5th gear. the yz440 moto might be the man in the outdoor tracks but in the indoor they suck. they hit way too hard and the power is like a light switch, either on or off (yzf450) . i would not think 5 or 7 hp would make a difference when you are already in the 40 to 50 hp range. i think rider skill would the determining factor. as far as the cdale motor design goes, i would think the exhaust exiting in a straight line would be a superior design over the normal exhaust frontal exit. besides the yz400 motors were not so reliable when they first came out either. but to be fair, any high performance four stroke today (except honda 400ex) are a hugh improvement over the engines just five years ago.
