Default New Curtis Sparks clutch help...

I just installed a Curtis Sparks clutch kit and it is dragging really bad. I just installed it like the factory clutch with the cushion spring. Any solutions?

Brayn

You have to throw away the cusion spring, Scott should have told you that. I did and it works fine.

That was it! I sure wish they would have told me that before I put it back together.

Thanks for the help,

Bryan

You need to remove the cushion spring. I know of a few that have ran the sparks clutch and had problems with pads falling off.

What and where is the cushion spring?? I have installed the same clutch just now and can not even hardly pull the clutch lever in. All the springs are torqued properly. Sparks should really include a notice with their "great kit" because not everyone wants to wait on hold for hours just for someone to tell you you need to omitt the cushion spring if thats the case. Thanks for any info.

I took the cushion spring out. It seams like it is too loose now. I can spin the basket freely with the springs installed. It doesn't seem normal to me. What am I doing wrong
