Not to get anyone mad, but there seems to be alot of bashing on the new yfz. I have hade mine for 1 1/2 months now and can say without being biased (little white lie) that the yfz will beat 90 percent of all quads iv'e raced, be it sand or hard pack. The other 10 percent are highly modified machines. Were talkin raptors, ds's, banshee's, predator's, and a couple of 250r's, but none of the modified 400cc quads modified or not. Basicaly if u want to pit stock against stock the yfz will win every time. Just my oppinion from first hand experience at pismo and hollister .

Not sure if you were joking about my post or not??? but if you haven't run a YFZ you will have a quick wake up call some day. Yamaha produced a sport 4 wheeler that finally provides some excitement.
I just had two guys on piped raptors making every excuse in the book why the YFZ dominated them in a straight line shot. Throw in some curves and things get much worse for the YFZ competitors.

Some reason when I first read that post of yours, I read it as "17" quad lengths, so I wasn't joking. 7 quad lenghts, I'd beleive it. The raptor is a pos in stock form. It's way out-dated. Needs a lot more work than a pipe to get it up to the newer quads. I loved mine, but it wasn't what I expected from a 660. When I first got my dirt bike, and opened up the top end, OMG, that's what a $7500 sport quad should of felt like....instead, I ended up with something that had lots of torque, and pulled hard up to about 6k, a disappointment to say the least, and the handling in stock form pretty much sucks for high speed.

BlueRules.. don't get me wrong, I also think the Raptor is a nice bike.. The YFZ is not for everyone and the Raptor has alot to offer also. I ride with several friends that have Raptors and they really enjoy them.. For their purposes, the Raptor is the bike to have. I'm just trying to tell it like it is for straight line speed.
I think the YFZ is aided by the rear tires, light weight, correct gearing and quick reving motor which give it an advantage for straight line shoot outs.
