Default What Compression With NOS?

I am running a 20 shot NX on my stock motor. Down the road I would like to make the motor itself better. I am thinking a Hot Cams stage one or stage two (depending on peoples advice) Craycraft or Robertson's highest level of porting, and a forged (manufacturer???) stock compression or maybe 10:1 stock bore piston. Does anyone make a stock or close to stock comp. piston that is forged?? Also, the reason I am doing this is because I hear high compression engines do no work very well with nitrous. Thanks alot in advance.

High compression and Nitrous work fine together provided you keep it from detonating. My 1969 Mach I with 11:1 compression did fine running a 200 shot. The key is to run the best(read highest octane) fuel you can find.

I will have run up to a 25 shot (same Nx kit as you) on my 13:1 686 motor. I know someone who has used a 25 shot on a stock motor for quite some time with no problems. I even looked at his piston when he tore it down, and it looked pretty good. As far as I know, there shouldn't be anything wrong with your stock piston for Nitrous. I think Dollarbillz has used up to a 50 shot on his 13:1 motor, too. So, there is nothing wrong with hi-comp and nitrous. I use 114 octane race gas, and a colder spark plug.

Wallstreet- a 10-1 would do you better for nos. You can run any piston with nos BUT most of the ones that i have seen have gotten the best results from using lower comp pistons. Craycraft stocks 10-1 727 pistons. That would be a killer combo. A lazy 727 till you hit it with 60hp shot of nos. Of course you better stud the top end. You have a hp gasket in your pator?? I would toss a stage 1 cam in there real soon. The gain would be worth the 125 dollars.

why didn't Dollarbillz run the NOS at the ATPT Summer Nationals, he might of had enough to win the open class.

Scooby- Dollarbills did not have enough time to get the NOS dialed in before the race.
