I would like to know exactly how one rides with an override tranny. You can upshift at WOT without using the clutch, but you can't downshift, right? Then after finishing your run how do you get back to the starting line if you can't downshift? Please enlighten me on how you have to change your riding style to make use of an override tranny. Thanks!

You can override 1-5 or 2-5 on the trannies. 6th gear from what I understand is in the process of being able to get included. You start out taking off just like any other trans. When upshifting you just shift the lever and it changes gears. No clutch slipping and no lag. It generally improves ET's a couple of tenths. The biggest problem besides not having 6th gear is that when you let completely off the throttle you have to pull in the clutch to avoid tearing it up. It will eat itself up if you dont. The best thing to do is find another set of tranny gears to modify and keep the originals to put back in if you want. It is usually a drag race mod only and will take a lot of the rideability away. Think carefully before jumping into it. Bubba

with a banshee you can override virtually any set of gears you want...1-4, 2-4, 1-5, and even 1-6 for the asphault racers. The process of overriding a gear stack is to cut ramps on the dogs to where the gear is basically sucked into position when shifted. The reason the clutch most be pulled in any time your not on the throttle is because the transmission will NOT dissengage. They are fully dunable as long as you think about it and ride it how they are supposed to. They shift like butter! once you ride one you'll never go back to a stocker
