When I go to put it in reverse, it rattles and pops. I have to push the shifter a 2nd or 3rd time to get it into reverse some times. Then when its in reverse it does not want to back up, it pops and stalls. I have to helpit out by pushing with my feet. My buddys warrior goes right in to reverse, and comes out of anything. They always joke my reverse. Is there an adjusment or something its getting on my nerves and I think its not to good for my Raptor.

Oh and how often should I really get my valves adjusted?????

Sounds like you need to adjust the reverse ****. When you turn it is there any play in it before it gets harder to turn? There should be none. The 03's have a reverse limiter it will cut and pop when going in reverse. Get a revers rev limiter bypass kit.

 

I also have an 03 raptor, it does take a few clicks to get it into reverse, but the sputtering and stalling when you are reversing is because it has a rev limiter in reverse. I think they started the rev limiter thing in 02 or maybe 03 but it really sucks especially on sand!!!

 

i have heard that the reverse on the raptor isnt all that great and especially in the sand, good luck if it backs up far in the sand. the thing that it needs is a override switch for the reverse. the vforce has one and it does a awesome job in the sand
