moving the clip down richens it, moving the clup up leans it. See when you move the clip up it puts the tappered needle farther down the hole that leads to the main jet so it lets less gas out. Its like sticking your finger in a coke bottle then trying to drink it, the more of your finger goes in, the less you can drink! So everytime you ask yourself this question, try to drink a 2 litre of coke with your finger stuck in the end!
