Check your lower cylinder base gasket. They normally fail on the left side of the motor right above the flywheel. A few companies address this problem with better gaskets. Basically if you ride in warm/hot conditions it will always be a problem.

Well Guys......

I tried several things and figured that it had to be compression. So I pulled the head and cylinder and found that the piston is scorn on the front side.It looks like the rings may have cought the exhaust port opening and broke the ring. The cylinder looks pretty bad and I am not sure if it can be repaired?I also thought that I would see a bore size somewhere since the place I bought it from said it had a new top end.I am going to make some phone calls and try and find out what I can do.

Just thought I would let ya guys know what I found and thanks again for all the info.....

sorry that i havent been back.....vitosperformance.net has great stuff for a blaster. I put it on mine nad im pumpin 55hp wit their entire top end kit: 240- big bore, no maching, polish ports, easy install. All i recomend is UPGRADE THAT DAMN CLUCH. That cluch was built for the 15hp a stock blaster pumps out not 55! Also, i was in ur shoes a wile back and i tore the top end of and it was al messed up inside that cilinder! so do this and a new cluch and u won't regret it!

Yep thats exactly what happenend to mine, ring broke and tore a nice gash on the cylinder wall. However, I was able to get the cylinder rebored and honed. Just a note if you get the cylinder rebored make sure the guy doing the work has the piston and rings that are going to be used with him. This way he can match the piston and rings exactly to the cylinder with the proper clearences.

Hi all....

Thought I would let ya know that the cylinder was able to be repaired and had to get a new piston, rings ext.The guy that I took it to said that there was over 10 thousanths clearance between the piston and cylinder and that the ring was clocked wrong.I dont think that the top end was done and if it was then they probably had to put the ring on wrong in order to get any compression.I got it back just the otherday and I am still breaking it in so I hope that it will be ok.Just thought I would give ya an update and say thanks for the help....
