Default RAPTOR RUNNING ROUGH

My raptor seems to be running rough, it's running to rich and carburator seems to not be adjusted right. I just put a new spark plug in it the one that came out of it had alot of carbon built up on it. The quad seems to lug at low to midrange in every gear when I open it up until i can get into higher rpm's. Any suggestions on how to adjust the carb on this thing would be appreciated.

Let's start with the basics, have any mods been done to the the quad? What's your elevation? Does it run strong on the top end but doesn't have any snap at low-mid RPM?

Have you adjusted the valves lately?

The quad doesn't have any mods to it and the elevation where I live is around 600 ft. No I haven't adjusted the valves. The bike starts right up without even using the choke, but the idle is up and down when I have just sitting like it is getting different amounts of gas at idle. It doesn't have any low end power in which it bogs down then you get it in to the upper rpm's it just takes off.

You have to adjust your valves every 20 hours or so, the intakes get tight and can interfere with proper vacuum to the carbs. After you adjust the valves, check your float levels with a clear tube in place of the carb overflow tubes. Hold the clear tube beside the carb and open the bowl drain screw beside the overflow port. If the fuel level is more than 2mm above the carb body/bowl mating line, you'll have to pull the carbs and adjust the floats. One of those, valves or floats, should get your Rappy back to normal.
