I was at the dunes in Florence this past weekend and from what I saw at Competition hill, a stock or only slightly tinkered with Shee couldn't keep up with the 450. I didn't get really close to the the 450 or talk to the guy, but I could see that he still had a stock exhaust.
I was impressed to say the least!!

One side note....the YFZ exhaust without the baffle is as loud as most aftermarket exhausts....unlike the Raptor exhaust. Hopefully Yammy thought this out and let the YFZ run harder even cheaper, which is a good thing. Fine looking atv.....as bad as I hate too post it....props too Yamaha for dropping the bomb on the performance atv market. I think Honda will arrive, but with less of a machine.

I would go with the yfz, unless you are going to mostly drag, then get a banchee.

I wouldnt get a banshee for anything. Those are phasing out fast, the 4-strokes are taking over. I would get a Raptor over a banshee any day. As for the YFZ450, I would purchase it in a heart beat. I purchase a new bike every year and this one will be next on my list.

I was at Comp hill in Florence on Sat to see that as well, but if you notice both those bikes had Ultra lites on 8" wheels and they both belonged to Red Line Racing. One of them had the GYRT ?? Factory yami pipe the other had the baffle out. I have to wonder how stock they were. A month ago I raced a show room stock YFZ and beat it by just a little 3 times, those bikes both ran by my like nothing...??

i beat a banshee that had atleast a pipe on it. I didnt care to ask because i didnt care if i won or not. He was in the line up of atleast 3 other bikes (ds 650, vforce, 400ex) I never saw the banshee once i hit 2nd gear on all 3 races. My 450 is completely stock.

how do you figure the banshee's are phasing out? On a mx track sure, but not in the dunes.

I know that there are alot of fast banshees out there but if you take a look at 95% of them they are 5 to ten years old. 4-strokes are going to take over soon and since they are going to not make 2-strokes in about 2 years then you well start seeing less and less of them.

I blows my mind that there are still so many people out there that think that simply running a stock pipe with no baffles is a good thing. Ever heard of backpressure? Yeah, you need some.
