RapOwner. I feel where your coming from, but think of it in this sense. The 250r was only made for 4 years, and there is a grip of them still running around. The banshee was made for 17 years, and you can sure as hell believe they are going to be around just as long as the 250r was. I still see a lot of new banshee's, but mostly dune riders. Most people arent too eager to pay 6k for a banshee then rip it all apart and start over making it all custom tailored to their liking.
Some pipes are too restrictive so taking the baffle helps free the engine up. But a lot of times taking that baffle out will cause your motor to go BOOM

i have a 450 and have taken on two shee's in a drag race. the first one was bone stock and i had the peashooter out, bye the end of 3rd gear he was two bike lengths back.the second had razars and the rest stock, the guy riding this one has been racing all his life. bye the end of 3rd he was about 2 bike lengths back to. and just so you know i have gone head to head with a rm125 that has been portted and polished
and i leave him off the line bye a bike length, then we stay that same dist apart tell i top out.
but i still can't get around the track as fast as i did on my rappy.
anyone having probs with the voltage regulater or battery? mine is in the shop, there trying to find the prob.
my buddy is having the same prob.

Yes but the YFZ stock pipe minus the spark arrestor is a GREAT thing along with proper jetting and the air box lid removed.
As for a Banchee and YFZ both off the showroom floor.. completely stock.. The YFZ will send the Banchee owner to the internet looking for hop up parts as quickly as he gets home.

The YFZ is fast 1-4 gear but not that fast once it hits fifth the Cannondale goes right by.The one I raced had 15-40 gearing, turf tamers, cam mod,lid off, jetting, pipe.Problem is the thing doesnt rev high enough it hits the rev limiter way to early. So if you own a Banshee,DS,Raptor race till you are well into 5th I bet you win!
I agree this isnt a factor on most mx tracks but for oval or firelane running it will be a problem.
