The SVT is supercharged but its still only a 4.6 281 the Z06 is a 5.7 350 (345 for those who really care). 1/4 mile time for the vette is 12.5 not low 12's the Svt's time is 12.9. Now call me crazy but $15k is ALOT of money for .4 seconds. With the money u save on the cobra u can put some goodies on it and tear the Z06 a new one. The Z06 is a great car but chevrolet could do alot better -3118lbs 4.0 0-60 where as the SVT weighs 3665lbs 4.5 0-60- not that impressive for big motor/light car. That little 281 is doing wonders. The race between them is so close, ive seen SVT's beating Z06's on the strip, its mostly just whos the better driver.

any of you read mustang mags? a couple months ago they took the stock blower off of an '03 cobra and bolted on a kenne belle blower and with NO MODS TO THE EXHAUST they were putting OVER 600 PONIES to the ground!! now that is HOSSPOWER!

Do you know how all the teenages seen the "fast and the furious"? Sonn after that came out the import market shot right up. I guess they seen that and said hey i can make my 1,000 car do that.
But... I dont know if all of you know this but the fast and the furoius WAS saposed to be an all muscle car movie but some how the guy that wrote the script got his idea stollen and they made it into a fart cannon movie. As far as i know the guy has been tryed to sue them since the first one came out and i think they came out with the second so quick so they can make some money off of it before they got the court case.
But... What your forgetting is, the added money that goes towards the Z06 is for the lighter and BETTER frame and the handling that the Mustang can only dream about.... The handling and suspension truly does not compare between either... I have not driven, but have ridden in both a 2002 Grey Z06 and a 2000 Cobra R (yea they changed them a little since, but handling was the same).... You could take corners so much faster and without near as much body-roll and leaning with the Corvette than with the Cobra...
Now, if you DRAG race only and your on budget...The mustang might be a better option...but if it's a daily driver and a Dragger, the Z06 is the way to go...
And try supercharging the Z06 and then compare both....

If I had infinite $ and could buy absolutely anything I wanted, Id have a F250 4x4 and one of those rebuilt Shelby GT500s, with the Super Snake package.

I know the stang isnt the best handling but u can get a roush suspension upgrade and will handle just as good if not better. I dont know if its true or not but I was a the Ford dealership the other day and they had a Roush 360R there, ofcoarse i was there drooling and asking questions. I asked him how the suspension was and he said "you can be doing 90mph on this car and just turn the wheel and it will not flip" "Roush is known for their suspensions just like Mclaren is with their $1m cars". and i was wow let me test drive it and ill let u know if its true or not ofcoarse he didnt let me but i had nothing to lose by asking, anyway back to the debate supercharging a corvette would be out of the question it wouldnt be fair in this comparison because the corvette costs more to begin with. Have you seen the S281E? its a saleen but still a mustang, they did a recent comparison between this car and the Z06 and the S281E was better in just about every category except for 0-120-0 the corvette did better. The S281E cost about $15k more than the Z06, is this a fair comparison? Id say its just about the same as the Svt-Z06 so like u said before u get what u pay for.
