Well my warrior and my new 300ex were sitting outside beside our shop, Well I went to the fire department to help out with some things and came back, it was like 12:30-1:00am and i was beat, I NEVER EVER leave my quads out but we had never had a problem with stuff just dissapearing in the 18 years my family has lived here, so i figured they would be fine, Well i went in and went to bed, When my mom was leaving for work the next morning she was like wheres ur warrior???? I went outside and it wasnt there!!! well i thought my sis might have borrowed it or sumthing but It turns out it was stolen sometime during the night [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img], I just found out my homeowners doesnt cover it now im out almost 4 grand this totally sucks, but i guess i have no one to blame but me........ But the funny thing was they left a brand new 300ex with keys in it, and took my completely rebuilt as of last year 88 Warrior??? whats up with that?????????? I think someone in the area stole it for parts or to ride, I had a guy say he may have seen it yesterday so i think i might still be able to find it but its probably unlikely,[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

Well, sorry for the loss of your Warrior, hopefully it will be returned quickly and in tact, and the theives will be caught and prosecuted, that's the sympathic side of me.

The realistic side of me now, tired or not, what ever the circumstances are, in no certain terms do you ever leave a veichle of such type unsecured, especially out in the open for someone to walk off with.

Why should insurance companies pay for stupidity, that just increases the premium rates for all of us. We all make mistakes and I think you have learned a valuable lesson and am sure you will be more careful in the future. I'm sure you've already heard this song and dance so I will say no more.

 

I think it would have been better to secure the quad but RaceWarrior350 is not to blame. The person to blame is the thief. There are alot of stores that leave lawn mowers out front for sale but if one is stolen whose fault is it? The thief. If insurance rates go up it's not the owners of the items to blame. Blame the thieves.

I understand where you're comming from, but it's still up to the owner to take minimal precautions to prevent theft, even the stores that leave their product out have at least chains through them and locked. A theif is a theif, I agree, and it could have been stolen out of his shop also, but nevertheless, an unsecured item, no matter what it is, or what it's worth is an invite for thievery. Everything I own is either locked or in my garage secured, but still, if someone wants it bad enough they will steal it no matter what the circumstances.

 

Man, that sucks! One good thing is that you don't see too many 88 Warriors rolling around, so put out the word, it won't be hard to miss, especcially with the mods you have on it. I would also ask around, nieghbors, businesses, see if any of them saw anything unusual, out of county plates, suspicious people, etc. I know this is all common sense, but some people don't think to ask around. Hope you find it.

I agree with you Happa, people should secure anything valuable the best possible. He did mention that he usually does secure it though. Its usually that one time that you don't, that you end up getting jacked! Its like they can smell it! I left my car unlocked one night, alarm unarmed, while at a buddies that lives downtown. I know, what a dumb@ss! To my defense, I was pretty drunk, but no excuse. Well, next morning, I get in to leave, reach down, and CD player is gone! I'm just glad the idiots didn't think to check my hatch, because the $7,000.00 worth of amps, subs, crossovers, capacitors, etc. was all still there!

I try to live by this motto- Better safe then sorry!

 

yepo it ha[pppens xpecially the idiot ppl who steal cd decks and stuff now u gotta think if u have a nice deck your prolyl gonna have a **** load of speckers amps yada yada ..... in the car neways to get to the point my dad has left everyveichle he's owned unlocked all his life i mean lie kat ngiht when he gets home.... well this 1 morning he was smokin a cig and the ash tray was gone..... now what kinda idiot steals an ash tray..... i mean there's over 10k in tools in the back and they steal AN ASH TRAY!!!! lol neways when my quad get's stolen i'll b happy (kinda) i mean i wouldn't mind that 6000$ check to go toward a new raptor...

 

That would have to suck.I know that my dad use to leave his truck unlocked and the you could pull the keys out while still running...butthe trucks werent the greatest and nothing ever happend to them. We do leave our keys in our atv's but they are in a barn out at my grandmas house...there is 5 out there so chances are there isnt anyone going to be taking them all. I just hope nothing ever happens to any of our stuff...later
