450 and Raptor head interchangeable?

I understand the combustion chamber would have too be re-worked if they would bolt up. Anyone have thoughts on this? The 450 is still the basic 5 valve design that the Raptor has.....will the 450 intake bolt up too the Raptor head?

You know, I just thought about this, why did they go with two carbs on the Raptor and only one on the YFZ? Couldn't you just put one big one to make up for the cc's? Someone try it out! What is the biggest FCR they make?

If my calculations are correct a 686cc engine is 41.8 cu. in. which would require a flow of 120cfm @ 10,000 RPM. A decent single 35mm carb will flow that.
I think he is correct too, bigger is not always better.
On the head, you would probably have ALOT of work to do on it. Like you said cumbustion chamber, then the water ports, hopefully it would be the right height, maybe the studs would line up, ect... I think it would involve moe work than what it would be worth.IMO You'd be better off welding up the Raptor head and starting on it.

This being said, perhaps the boys at Edelbrock know what they are doing afterall with their 38x40mm Quicksilver carb kit...
