i was putting my topend on...okay now...the holes in the head and cylinder for the water to run through they match each other when you set the head on the cylinder..but, the head gasket blocks the water from going throught the head into the cylinder..why is that? on the gasket it looks like the spots should be punched out but arent
any help... need more specific details

Make sure you dont have the gasket turned 1/4 or 1/2 out. You may have gotten the wrong gasket. Take your gasket and check it against another one from your dealer.

 

but loook ...i have my old gasket and it is the same way.. they are yamaha gaskets..i wish i could get a pic..im goign to look on a microfiche and see if it shows holes.

 

well on the online microfiche it looks exactly like my gasket..but i still dont understand why

You have a Raptor right??? All of them are like that. I don't know why, but they are. As long as its not upside down your okay.

 

We noticed that too. Not sure why it was designed that way but it IS supposed to be like that.
