Default Chain link?

Ok I kind of feel like an idiot but I can not find the master link on my warrior chain? All the links look identical. It is an o-ring chain but I did not think that would make a difference. I can not believe they would make you take the swing arm off to change the chain? \
Anyone have any advice?
Thanks

If you can't find the master link the clip that goes on the outside of the link must have fallen off. You will have to look real close at the links for the center pins that have slits cut into for the clip to lock into.

Default Chain link?

thanks for your help.
I am still trying to understand. The clip usually goes on the outside of the chain right? When you say look for the slits cut into the cross bars, these will be on the outside of the chain. all the links I looked at yesterday looked like the cross pins had been ground down on the outside.
While I am here, what is the best way to clean/oil the chain?

thanks again

yeah it is on the outside of the chain, on the side closest to the tire. they all look the same so you got to look really hard to find the slits. when i put a new chain on i moved it before putting the clip on and i looked for a long time before i finally found it

ok. I will look again. I was not looking that closely because I was expecting to find a very noticable clip like a lawn mower chain or something.

Thanks again

if it is the original chain, it will not have a master link. i had to cut mine off with a hacksaw. make sure you wear gloves. it is a messy ordeal.

i know the banshee does. i am not 100% sure about the warrior, but i know some of the stuff is the same between the two bikes. you would be able to see a master link even if you were not paying real close attention.

The original chain that was on mine was a o-ring chain, but it had a master link

I have a 2001 raptor it has no master link. But there is tool called a chain break,I think I spent about $6.00 or $7.00 for it it makes the job easy.
