Default Raptor clutch boss

Hi guys. I just reassembled my raptor motor with the '02 tranny (whew, that was fun!) I have just one dilemma. How do i hold the clutch boss steady while I tighten the nut on it? It freespins when i start to torque down on it. I don't want to wedge a screwdriver between the threaded fingers that the pressure plate bolts to, I'm afraid that I'll break one of them off. Raptortranny.com recommends 60 ft pds on the nut and that's alot to hold steady with a screwdriver. Any help will and always be greatly appreciated! By the way, warrior007 rules!

Yamaha makes a tool to hold the basket. I used an impact gun, the weight of the basket was enough to let the impact gun tighten the nut. You could try wrapping the basket with a rag and get a strong buddy to hold it while you torqued down.

Go to sears and check out there selection of strap wrenches, they have one that will work I am sure for like $10. Alot of people just run theirs on with an impact while its wrapped in a shop rag or towel - kinda dangerous if you are trying to hold it at the same time though but works just fine

glad you like my site!
