26 inch tires on stock rims?
Hey. I have heard that it is possible to fit 26 9x12 tires on the front and 26 10x12 or 11x12's tires on the rear on the stock tire rims. If so i an gonna try some 26's on my Big Bear 400 4x4? If anybody has done this before can u reply back and give me some info. Does it affect the steering or handleing and are they harder to mount on the rims? thanks

dude, here is the real deal if you have 12'' rims(daimeter) not width, on front and back they should be 8's in front and 10's on back. i have 2 big bears and a 660 griz and live in the nat. forrest and we play hard i mean real hard!!!! here is the scoop we have several tires that have been tried and tested on several bikes and we swap them out regurally due to conditions. as to what will fit 10 wide on front and12 on back just keep in mind the wider you go on front causes more wear on front end and steering connections for very minimal results i would go with stock widths if i were you and and 12 wides on back where you willlllll see a difference in performance for the big bear. on the bear you will want to stay light i can assure you you will loose power with any width reguardless of height if you go taller than 26's a great tire for this machine is the mud lite by itp or mud bug by gbc i think if you go with mud bugs dont go more than an inch wider than rim size because of distortion in shape they will wear a little uneven i have mud lites on both bears and have not seen a need to swap to any thing since we put those on!!!! great tire and the bears turn them like crazy.
