I had the exact opposite feeling last weekend... I went to a friends house where he has 30 acres of woods with trails cut through them (originally cut with a banshee and a chainsaw ) My friends were on a 400ex, Wolverine, Warrior and a Banshee.... and while Im not the most experienced rider in the world, I had issues... the trails were super tight and very wooded... there were times that I would just squint and grit my teeth as I followed the trail between two trees that I thought for sure I couldn't fit between.
The YFZ was much, much wider than any of the other quads out there, I ended up having to head back and goto another area with more "loose" woods.
I've ridden at Lake Draper on the YFZ and it did very well... this place is a groomed, city owned ORV trail park.

selector-Seeing you have a CRF450, would you care to comment on that engine in a quad?? What about maintenance?? Are the stories of changing rings every 15 hours true???

Maintenance: Other than working on it after some serious endos, oil changes & lubrication are all I've done to it.
Rings: Every 15 hours? I've never heard that one. The CRF450R has been VERY dependable. As I noted above, I've only done oil changes and standard lubrication of moving parts like the swingarm, etc. I've never seen the spark plug. I have replaced fenders, handlebars and the like due to my own actions.

I'd recommend the CRF450 to anyone that fit the profile of the bike. Just make sure you're hanging on when you first twist the throttle WFO. Mines a pretty tricked out bike. It looks stock, but I've got everything on it: ASV's, RG3's, Renthal, Excels, RAD MFG, Factory Connection, Thunder Alley, etc. etc.
I wanted to get a CRF250 for my wife, but it was just to tall for her comfort and too much power. So she rides a CRF230 - an "XR" type bike. She enjoys it a lot on the dusty trails of Utah. In fact, she didn't touch her YFZ when we went out on Labor Day.
Let's put it this way, if the TRX450 looks and runs better than the YFZ, I'm not gonna be happy. Well, yes I will. You guys may not know this, but this is the Honda I traded for the YFZ. Absolutely everyone I know thought I was nuts - cept'n of course my wife. I haven't even told some of the die hard Honda guys I know that I did it.
