Default ATV Scams!

There are lots of scammers out there, probably terrorists trying to get some more funding.

I put one of my banshees up for sale and have had two guys email me, both did not type very good english and both were willing to pay what I was asking. They want to send a money order for the amount. And then have me ship the quad out of the country for them, I think one was in africa and one in France or something like that.

I told them whatever funds they paid with I would wait until the money was actually in the account before I did anything. I told them usually 10 days, but could be longer. That was the last email I got from them.

Watch your back, these people are out to take your money.

Default ATV Scams!

Here is my latest example of an Ebay scammer at work, Item number: 2433460809:

Hi Ben,

Thank you for your email.

I have (for the moment) the privillege to buy this item for a low cost (50% of
the retail price) so you have the opportunity to purchase from me a great saving
from the original price. I have available only 2 pieces.

The buy it now price would be 3100 USD for the Yamaha 2004 YFZ450 ATV (with all
the shipping/handling and insurance charges included). The unit is brand new and
it has never been used before. It has no hidden damages and it is in perfect
condition.

They ship with all the accessories provided by the manufacturer and have 1 year
of international parts warranty provided by the factory and 1 year labour
warranty and will be available at every Yamaha service center in your country.
All the manuals and the original documentation are written in 8 languages.
Inside the package you will receive an invoice for the quad and it should be
kept with the warranty papers.

You will receive your package in 4-5 working days. I send all my packages with
FedEx, and I will cover for all the shipping/handling and insurance charges. You
only pay for the money transfer comission when you wire the funds, which is
about 4% from the total amount sent.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested and I will send you
a purchase agreement with the terms of the transaction to save time and money. I
have preffered this special type of auction because of the multiple problems
I've had in the past with bidders who were just bidding for the sake of it
(deadbidders), but weren't interested in buying any item.

Mail me soon and let me know.

Thanks for your understanding,
Kevin

Theyre all over the place. I hope ebay knows that all these scams are probably hurting their business. Is there away to let ebay know that an item is a scam. They should have a button to click on somewhere that says "report scam" or something. I would report all the ones i see but it would be a hastle to go and email them everyone i find.

e bay should do something with the i p address, find the scammers and the forward it to the authorities. when you log on too ebay i think your ip address should be able to automatically tell where your from, instead of the person typing where they are from. problem is trying to find the scammers. rough if you do a search i had the scam up on a couple of different forums with the same bike. looks like it is from new york with the plate . i enhanced it and with a search you could probally find the person
