i'm always looking for someone to ride with and often come across others looking for the same in other states. How about a search engine that finds riders/members in your state (match up by member profiles) or a forum exclusively for people looking for riding partners. it seems like a common enough topic. what do you guys think?

Im sure this would help in finding/sharing new areas to ride as well as creating great relationships for people who enjoy riding. i would like to think it would introduce people to other local atv clubs who could use the help and support maintaining and opening new and existing trails. Plus put people in touch with forum members who own land and would'nt mind inviting a new friend over to enjoy their little riding oasis.

with this industry under constant attack...we may be able to form new alliances through such a forum. I'm aware of the "Where to ride" forum...but i don't think thats doing the job. a search engine may be a better way to reach out to people in your area.

ie;
i'd like to post a message to all forum members from NH because a trail is gonna be closed down. Under normal circumstances. this post would just get lost in the pile if no-one responded by the end of a day. and i'd have to post in every forum to find all the NH residents.

could some of the Moderators chime in on whether this is do-able. if so what is the likely hood to get ATVconnection involved.

 

I also frequent a dirtbike site "dirtrider.net" That has close to this same thought process. It has a map of the US that members can put a "pin" that has their name on it in the state that they live in. It can even zero in on city areas. Its a very cool feature. I know obviously that this is more money for the person(s) that fund the site, but I do think this is a good idea worth atleast looking into. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
