yamaha660r have you ever seen a dyno? I would be willing to bet a considersable sum that a piped and jetted raptor puts out less than 40rwh. We dynod a piped yfz450 with airbox lid off and it made 38rwh. We also dynod a trinity 686 and it made about 43rwh. I'm not sure where you'r getting your info but I would do some checking on it because it is not very accurate.

Dude, my Raptor has the intake snorkel flaps cut out, the "stage two" jet kit in it, and a 12 tooth sprocket, that's it. It dynoed 38 rwhp here at 550 ft elevation over Memorial Day weekend this year. I'm thinking there was something seriously wrong with the 686 you saw! You know how pissed I would be if I spent that kind of green on a 686 and exhaust and only picked up 5 hp? Lol, heads would be rolling!!!

FMF is not crap!...i know there are pipes with better gains. but i got substantial gains from my Power Core IV...and it's not obnoxiously loud...has a nice sound and have had no problems thus far. i've seen & beaten Raptors with the infamous CT pipe (and yes it's was properly jetted) and have beaten Gyt-r's,Big Guns and Bills. i've seen some of those ceramic coated pipes flacking off the coating (thats Crap).
back in 01...my buddies and i raced stock raptors with all sorts of diffrent pipes. the diffrence was minimull...the gain diffrences you get from most of these pipes don't become outstandingly noticable until you start doing engine Mods. I posted results back then....and yes we swapped quads and all that crap to ensure fair comparisons.
and if someone uses the DW pipe shootout dyno's as their proof...i'm gonna hurl. we conducted our own shootout and we did'nt take any advertising money. we had/have no agenda. and did it for the sake of feedback to the forum for all the new Raptor owners. If i truly believed there was a huge disadvantage to running my FMF...i would have bought another pipe. IMO
I'm happy...and so are my neighbors. nuff said.

Dude, if your happy with your FMF that is what counts. Spend your money on whatever you want. I gotta call Bullsh*t on the Raptor pipe thing though....it had to be rider error. I had an 01 Raptor with the CT pipe, needles, jet kit and K&N w/ no airbox lid. I am 250 lbs and I still beat EVERY piped Raptor I raced....Big Gun, E-series, Pro-Tec, etc.. We have 4 raptors in our riding group and we have raced numerous times and I weigh a lot more than the others and my quad consistently would win over the others. They didn't do the needles but they were jetted w/ airbox mods.
