if that were correct then I would be in the 60hp neighborhood........
and a race gas 686 on stock carbs would be around 75 and a 770 would b around 100.........
I don't think so.......

yamaha660 even will the piston and cam if you run into a properly running and modded 450 you will get your @$$ handed to you. Even vs a stock one with the baffle out and lid off you will not make him eat dust, maybe win by a couple bikes. This is if your racing up hills or a shorter race, top end I have no doubt you could beat one with a piston and cam. Where I ride piped 450s can hang with alcohol semi-drag banshees. Im just sayin dont underestimate the 450 cuz they can fly.

Crispy ,

They were dynoed with the stock tires on them I believe . The YFZ was putting the smack down on the Z440 , and the Pred well they just threw that in so Kane had something to ride..lol

The dyno numbers on the YFZ don't blow me away but it hauls as@! It will embarrass many (not ALL but many)built raptors (686's and 720's). With just a pipe, jetting, filter and a cam adjustment it is hard to beat. A big part of it is just that it flat out jumps out of the hole. It is not the baddest but for this close to stock with only 439cc's it flat out stomps.

In 300' the YFZ shines. At Pismo, most of the YFZ's would beat my mild 686 in 300' the track goes a little more and I would start realing most in before we had to shut down. Some were just gone and never to be seen from again. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img] a 660' race and the storys would be different in most cases. jmo

what's with these dyno numbers always being screwed up, will anybody ever give the true horsepower or anything??
my biked pulled 49; 686, stage 2, P&P, on alky, and stock carbs

Dyno numbers don't mean $hit comparing this bike in Feb to another bike across he counrty in June.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

That my friend is the truth. The YFZ accelerates hard but tops out quickly. A longer race and many other quads would definitely catch it and pass. The best way to beat a YFZ is to pick your race wisely cuz for the first 200-300 feet....LOOK THE F@*K OUT!

I beleive that polaris is making their predator a lot lighter and putting in a better gear box next year. maybe then there might be something to talk about.

If the riders switched and ran it again,,,we might see what the problem is (probrably not the bike)

My rappy will beat any 440 with the same mods.

lol- That is what I thought with my Ct Raptor until I got this YFZ. I ended up selling my raptor to a buddy who is 50-60 lbs lighter than me and my YFZ absolutely STOMPS him in a drag race. My rappy was fast also but it doesn't touch the YFZ...mainly in the low end. As far as that Predator goes...it is fast with a pipe/airbox mods and it also would pull the Raptor a little in acceleration(it wouldn't stock) after it was piped but that damn thing is a tank in the woods. I will give it this though...it absolutely would fly down fire roads where the width would allow you to corner with extreme confidence.
