I don't have a dyno, or a calculator. But I do have a pair of eyes, I weigh around 200lbs. and I beat my buddie on his 250R (same mods but .40 over) by about 4lengths. I let his brother run my bike against him (he weighs 150soking wet) and he put about 6-7 lengths on him. I am a little bit better rider than him but my shee could start in 3rd gear w/ him on it. So I "figure" every 50pounds equals 2-3 lengths.

I know DSmike told me they lost a bunch of weight off of the black DS and it went no faster. May be the forula changes after a while. I have read that 12 lbs was worth 1 hp on a grand national. Getting rid of a few hundred pounds would be worth while. Banshee's seem more weight sensitive than the 4stroke thumpers.

Unless someone is really really heavy it looks like the pros and cons are offset in a 300 foot race. The bigger guy hooks up better on the launch than the little guy and then the added weight slows it on the top end where the little guy makes up the lost ground.

The faster you go the more weight you must remove for the added benefit as you start encountering other forces like increased resistance and all kinds of stuff .

Robertson built my bike, and yes thats about it. Between me and 14 it's an ongoing saga that seems to spice the forums up and when it gets boring on here we go back and forth. I guess it's kinda like a soap opera. If you look through past threads it's been goin on for about...............2 years I think. Look through past threads and you'll have hours of smack talkin enjoyment. I've pretty much come to the realization that we'll never race.

I think 14 might have been directing this question at me. I go 6'3 330+. I run 7 lbs of pressure in my sand tires. I hook up real well in the dirt with my dirt tires. I usually get a good lead on people with equal bikes. The weight is a disadvantage in mid and top end where I lose alot of races. In the sand the weight is a huge disadvantage, the Sand Yacht seems to want to sink with me on it. I race people on my bike and lose by 1 to 2 lengths against similar bikes in sand. When I change riders to my younger brother who is 6'2 215lbs the difference is he wins by 2 bike lengths. Go figure. I love winning so maybe I should eat more salads instead of cracklins, gumbo, and boudin. lol
