My buddy wants new tires for his Grizz. The stock Dunlops are quite embarrassing in the mud. Is anyone running 26 or 27" Blackwaters on theirs? If so, what kind of power loss are we looking at? What about width? Also, does adding a locker up front make it harder to steer, and does it have the same affect in 2 wheel drive? All info appreciated.

My Buddy has a 2000 Grizzly with 27x12x12 Vampires on the back and 27x10x12 on the front. He has no lift kit or offer mods and they don't hit anything. I went out mudding with him on my stock 2000 Grizzly and he could get through stuff in 2WD that I had to struggle to get through in 4WD. We never really raced each other, but we did ride a few miles on a old railbed and his top end was as high as mine. I'm thinking of getting some 26" Outlaws for mine cause like you said the stock tires are pretty bad. As far as a locker goes yes it's much harder to steer in 2WD and 4WD.
