Edelbrock carb cutting out at high RPMs
me too, my 11:1 piston & stage I cam combination ran like crap on race gas, high octane pump gas did the trick with no pinging at all.....the lowest octane that doesn't ping produces the best power too so you ask, why would a cam mfg say you need race gas for a stage I cam, the answer is you can't sue them for using octane that would never hurt your engine. if you look around you may even find one or two of us who will run pump gas or a slight mix of pump/race gas even with a 12:1 piston. however, experimentation is the best octane to use. Bartlett, do you know this for a fact, or is that just your opinon???
When shopping for a carb a couple months ago I thought the that it would be too small, thus the Lectron. But (I forget his name) the guy you designed the carb told me over the phone it would be fine on methanol for a hi-comp 686.

I had the same conversation with the mfg & dist & both admitted it flows fine for a stock or a mildly built raptor but actually hurt top end hp on built rappys.
I am beginning to think even DW is in on the back scratching game. We need a new magazine for the peeps, unobstructed, innocent, bipartisan, run by Bill Clinton, a real man's magazine, LOL..., the only truth we have anymore are these forums, lets keep it real, power to the peeps!
