I will tell you this, one size difference on the main jets on my bike was the difference between not running at all at WOT and running great.

under 4k, that's a good price. my stock-cyl setup costed $4200 from K&T, but I had them do the whole thing, not just order the parts, they did the whole teardown and assembly

What did they do exactly for 4200?

Unless they built you a complete engine i cant see what would justify such a cost and even then.Im having Dan Wade at Patriot Racing build me a complete engine from scratch its a 500cc 7mm stroker T-REX engine, painted cases, polished cylinders, lock up clutch etc. anything short of an override tranny is included for 5400$...

If you had drag pipes and stuff like that, and the jetting was right you will be surprised with how high your HP number will be.

Anyway, did you think about that 535 cheetah kit???

By the way the intake setup looks you will have to run out of the frame drag pipes. I have a 400cc T-Rex set-up that have off set intakes towards the inside and my in-frame CPI's barely clear. Just something you should think about.

I dynoed my Banshee at the Aledo Nationals and it produced 65hp at the rear wheels. Not much, but there is a lot more there to be gained.

Daren, u sed u think ur times are impressive but we turn those times and faster and the only difference is ours is not a big bore, we have stock carbs, pyramid reeds, cpi pipes, prowedges, and a 115 lb rider.

We were running the same engine for a while until someone stole it and burnt the piston so it has been bored once in the past 2 years.

I wasn't saying it is the fastest drag engine. . .

But, my times were very respectable considering what it had done. Ask anyone who has raced at Bonne Terre, MO. Ask Sandragggen from here in the connection. Or go over to the ATVDRA site and ask some of those guys about that track. At Bonne Terre you run paddles not wedges. This is 300 ft sand, not dirt, not hard pack.

For reference, a Lonestar Lightweight framed 520 TREX built by Port Magic runs most frequently in the high 4.1s or low 4.2s. He told me that he once ran a 3.998 but I didn't see it. The only bike I have seen to regularly visit the 3's around here is John Butler's Crankenstein. But anyways. . .

There is a guy there with an alky 350 (actually I'd bet it is at least .080 over) that runs high 4.5s and I think mainly 4.6-4.7s. It is the fastest 350 based (non stroked) Banshee at the track that I know of. His motor: Tyson drag, +10 swingarm, override, stock carbs on alky, strutted, Haulers. EVERYTHING DRAG ONLY. I was on stock swingarm, stock tranny, stock reeds. I would say that me only being 2-3 tenths behind him is dang good.

I built the 420 kit because I wanted more power without the drag port. It turned out very well. I have raced flat track, drags, and ridden everywhere. I was impressed with how it turned out and many people around here, to this day, are impressed with the way that Banshee has ran and held up. That engine is now over 3 1/2 years now on the same top and bottom end.
