Default chain cleaning

anyone think it is a bad idea to run an o ring chain through a parts cleaner. I have been told kerosine works well to clean them but the parts washer just seems easier.

any thoughts/ suggestions appreciated

thanks

I use gas and a tooth brush, then dry it and spray it down with wd-40. i wouldn't think a parts washer would hurt

hi:
i beleive in removal and soaked in kerosene is great thats what i do, it is true that petroleum
eats away at the o rings but im on second season with my chain... after kerosene i drop in a can of motor oil i do this 2 times a season. and i always lube my chain when its dry

happy trails . just my opinion

Yeah I decided to go ahead and use the parts cleaner since it just has mineral spirits. I was also scrubbing it as the mineral sprits were pouring over it. Currently it is soaking in 80-90 wt. gear oil over night. Then tomorrow, I plan on putting it back on.

Thanks for all the help.
