She left me...

"Dear Yamaha,
Since purchasing two of your YFZ race quads, I have been acting as a de facto salesman for Yamaha motor company. Through my selfless efforts, I have increased the peformance of said unit, utilizing Genuine Yamaha GYTR parts in many cases, to a level heretofore unseen in lightweight 4 stroke race quads. As you know, I have created many buyers of YFZ's in the Utah and Idaho region, extending to other Rocky Mountain States.
My sales assistance unit has encountered a rather catastrophic engine malfunction. While it is in for repairs, I will require another unit for sales presentations in the dunes. Please have one delivered prior to Friday, September 26.
Attached to the engine repair bill will be my down-time invoice, in lieu of sales commissions. See my expense report for beer reimbursements (therapeautical value).
It has been very pleasureable working with Yamaha Motor Corporation as a field sales assistant. I look forward to a long and prosperous relationship. Your prompt attention to this small setback will be taken into account, in keeping the incident in-house. Just between us.
Sincerely,
Selector

Selector- That sucks so bad what dealer did you purchase it through?? Good thing I didn't run into you this weekend, I wouldn't have wanted to hear about this while I was down there.

From what you've described, I bet you have bent-over valves wadded up in there. I heard the "clatter" once on my 2.3 rail engine when it jumped time. But it had rocker arms and could go ahead and break all them. With your cam-over-valve nothing can give but the valve itself. I bet it's ugly in there.

I showed up right after a dude on his raptor did, I didn't see it happen but I heard it was a pretty good one.
Was the YFZ/Raptor flip show pretty dramatic?

I'm hoping like hell it is a valve. If it's something down low, that's gonna raise all sorts of issues. It was a very simple little event; no jerking, loud sounds, etc. just clank, dead and I'm walking down the trail back to camp. It was a nice walk and I didn't swear once - really.
Here's one for you Raptor guys: a raptor pulled me out and back to camp. So if anyone ever asks: "What's faster a broke YFZ or piped Raptor?" you know the answer.
