Default Building a Banshee

Hello everyone,

I have always admired quads. I used to ride a Bayou 220.

Now i want to build a project banshee. I don't know very much about them.
I want purchase a frame in the months to come. I live in Ca but a friedn of mine will take care of the quad in S. C.
My parents will not know about htis project.

How much would a frame and some fenders run me?
I will buy parts cheap here then ship them.

What type of engine should i start with? I want it to be fast and show be able to take trails and some mudd occasionaly.

Can someone reccomend some article on building a banshee?

Thanks

i would go out and buy a wrecked yamaha r6 and just slap it in the banshee frame. jk check ebay for parts and are u wanting a stock banshee engine or a "big bore" high perf. engine its better to start out with what u know will work and then work your way up as you get money/time and u will know what u want when u get started. good luck

It really doesn't matter whether engine is big bore or stock. I am just wanting the frame and the engine.

Do you know of any monster banshee links?

you will spend more money than its worth.
find a good used banshee or one that is blown. that way you get most of the parts.

"I want it to be fast and show be able to take trails and some mudd occasionaly."

Huh?

if you want fast, you want a banshee, but when you throw in the word "mud" youre kinda askin too much.

id love to have a bike with the quick revving engine of a banshee, the ground clearance of an artic cat and the 4wd capabilities of a grizzly, but you cant have that all in one bike if you see what im saying.

now if youre talking about open trails with lots of long high speed straights with a banshee youre fine, dunes youre great, twisty low speed trails youre real bad off and mud youre worse off. a banshee is a purpose built machine, and itll definately do better in mud stock than after high performance mods which just make more wheelspin and a lot more clutch work in slow areas, but even stock you really wouldnt do it unless you had to. sorry to burst your bubble but mud + banshee = stuck.

if youre talking about a fair amount of trails and mud, first of all i wouldnt recommend a sport quad at all, but if you have your heart set on one and want to go fast when you can, when youre not muddin', anything four stroke is gonna be better than a banshee.

this is all just my opinion and i could be wrong, i dont know what you mean by "mud" and i dont know how much money youre gonna put into this and how racy it will be. keep talkin on here, youll get a lot of opinions, some drastically different, but you just have to sift through the responses and make your decision on what you think is best in the end.

A sport quad would be better for me. As fas as mudd goes i was talking about some trails have mud then the rest are dry and straigh aways.

I have a fair amount of land and dirt roads to ride on.
