Default Raptor jetting problem

I think that you're right about it burning a little excess fuel when you're shutting down. I don't know exactly what the issue is but my friend's Raptor does the same thing. If I had to guess I'd say that maybe the idle screws are running a little rich but I would have to play with it a little to know. You might turn your idle screws in a half turn or so and see what happens.

Default Raptor jetting problem

alright, i am back at it again. i actually got a good day of riding in and of course found a problem. i adjusted the floats to where they should be and it ran good. but then it started sputtering when i would come into a corner after a straight-away at about 3rd gear. so i adjusted some more and it seemed to be running good. but when i went to hit a 25ft. kicker, it would bog on me right on the take-off. scared the crap out of me. i tried the jump again and the same thing happened. so i tried just ripping around the track. and when i de-acceled to turn off a straight-away, about 4th gear, it just stalled. i am still running the same setup (146 in the left carb and 148 in the right carb. I put the clip on the fourth groove from the top of the needle (dynojet kit)) as before. and i don't want to take my airbox lid off, because i ride in water and mud. but i did cut two holes in the lid. any suggestions? thanks

put the clip in the 3rd notch..... and lower the floats just a touch.. sounds like your drownding it in fule a bit when the carbs slosh forward.. (flooding the idle pilot)

I had very similiar problems to you, I adjusted the floats and probly took the carbs off 20 times. I finally scrapped the dynojet kit and got the GYTR kit and it ran almost perfect the first time. Personnally I think the DJ needles are tapered too much, its something you could try if you get completely frustrated. It worked for me but its just my opinion.

Default Raptor jetting problem

well, i am just about completely frustrated. i went to go riding this weekend, and when i did a couple laps around a field my header pipes were glowing beet-red. i am not sure what they are supposed to look like at night because i have never rode with my yoshimura pipes during the night. are they supposed to be glowing that much? if not, then i'm running lean, right? any suggestions where i could take it to have it checked out and set at the right settings? thanks.

I would buy the gytr jet kit and be done with it. I have heard alot of bad stuff about the dyno jet kit. My buddy just bought the gytr kit after having problems with the dyno jet.
