I just finished installing and getting my lectron carb into a fare state of tune. When im going wide open it revs and you feel the power and it builds then WAM the motor dies for about a whole second and then comes back on, then does the same thing again and again till you shift. Is that the rev limiter? I didnt know they made it cut out for so long. If so, im hitting it like a brick wall.

What does the Rev limiter on other yamaha bikes feel like? is it a fast thing where it hits it, bounces off and comes back real fast or does it kill it for a second completely?

 

It just hits it and bounces on the raptor, it doesn't kill the power.

What else could cause it to die out on top end under WOT? The rest of the rev range does fine, then when it gets up around prolly 7000-8000 it just dies untill the revs come back down then it gets going again.

 

You need to go a size or two up on your main jet.
