Neither are beautiful.... more like unique[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]. I would like to have a 400ex when I want a slow but confortable ride[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img].

How the heck are your friends riding their banshees?! A few of my friends have shee's couple 01's and one 03 and none of them have rebuilt it more than once...As a matter of fact my friend with the 03 hasn't rebuilt his at all...so what gives? Rider abuse or neglect or something?

hozed, Your "buddie" is why 'shees get the reputation as being un-reliable. If its a 2002 and he's rebuilt it 5 times and blew it up twice after the rebuild then he's an idiot. I've rebuilt my 2000 once and it was my fault b/c I was running the wrong fuel w/ the compression I had. There are MANY MMMMAAAANNNY people who have 95's, 96's, 94's etc. that are still on the ORIGINAL top-end.

All my friends are running timing advances, shaved heads, cool heads, anything to boost compression and there still on the factory top end. I dont like people dissin the shee but i dont know how you ride cause maybe you cant handle it and got a honda j/k [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] not that im exin the ex out, there reliable and good wheelier as well, but i like the banshees thrill, speed, and the way it sounds. I am sure if you ride one you'll change your opinion, unless you wiegh 200+ pounds and do 30+ doubles on a track.

 

alot of long stories to his banshee.. ill keep it quick.. it blew up 91 days after he bought it missing warrenty by 1 day,
in blew agn, had it bored.
it blew up agn at a race.. overnighted parts and rushed it back together w/o boring out like all my buddies said he should.. so he could race agn the upcoming weekend.
it blew up the next day and he didnt get to race... and he had it bored.
airfilter fell off at races siezed the left side up... put back together everything was fine.. until the next day..
out riding and he satrts to loose power and it sputters he figured he foulded a plug... checks compression... 50 lbs. takes off head to see that the little tiny round ball that holds the crack in place somehow got into cylinders and beat the hell outs head and piston...
this was last week.

The banshee 110%. u can trash all 400s IMO.

 

Hozed, I think you guys must be forgetting the premix. That or you run it at 8000+ rpms the whole time you ride.
