In the test that this site did on a wolverine, they clocked it at 58 mph. If this is right, then why do some guys say that a warrior does only about 56 mph. (refer to: how fast is a warrior?)
Isn't a warrior faster?

There seem to be some psychological speed limits which the magazines do not wish to cross for the different types of quads.
Have you noticed, most sport quad reviews indicate a speed of around 60 mph as max.
For a utility quad the speed is usually listed as 50 MPH. Even if they are capable of 60+
Beware of the review that lists the top speed of a 300 cc utility quad at at 50 or better. Suzuki/Cat 300s and Kawasaki Prairies which might see 44MPH on a good day downhill) hehehe.
The magazines love to report that the Ranchers and 450s/es models like to go 51 mph when the vast majority of them will only run a rev limited 49.
Okay Honda owners don't flame me. We have had two of them in the family and one was quicker than the other one and actually did 51 mph (450S) on the blacktop, one time. It also had an ignition module which was advanced and allowed the engine to ping under warm engine conditions. The other one (450ES) never pings and tops out at 49 drops back to 47 and slowly climbs back up to 49 again.

Although I have never raced a Warrior with my Wolverine, I would definetly bet money that the Warrior is faster.
Personally I don't care if I don't have the fastest machine in the group. I'm confident enough in my riding skills that I could keep up with the majority of riders on most trails regardless of what kind of machine they are riding.
Lets compare riding atv's to golf - I could go out and spend $5000.00 on clubs and I would still suck.
I'm just as sure that there are guys out there would could whip me in a race if they were on a BearTracker and I was on a Banshee.
All I'm saying is don't underestimate the skill factor.
