Default lt250r Fatty FMF install

ok I'm confused. I going to be installing an FMF Fatty and it doesn't have a mounting flange on it. Are they supposed to come with one or am I supposed to buy that somewhere? Does the pipe just slip on? I'm freakin lost. I looked up the instructions on FMFracing but everything was pretty generic. I have an 1986.

Any help? I'm sure lot's of you guys have used this pipe on your Lt's.

Hey man, i had an 86 LT250R with a FMF FAtty, just use the old bracket off the original pipe and the new one slips on the flange, good luck.

Thanks! I was hoping it was going to be something like that. Is the flange on the stock pipe hard to get off? Is there a trick or something?

To get it off? their should be 3 studs holding it into the block, take the 3 out, then the flange should come out, then put the flange in the new pipe, then put it all back on at one time, its easier.

Looks like I got issues than, it looks like the flange is welded to the stock pipe.

Your pipe should have come with a flange that bolts to the engine, the pipe slides into it and is held with springs. So yeah you got issues.

I emailed FMF about the spring flange. We'll see if I get a response. Anyone have any ideas on where I might get one?

he's right on the 85-86 LT250R's the flange is welded to the pipe... it wasn't until 87 that they made it a seperate peice.

2StrokeSmoke, let me know if you can find one.... i may have an extra somewhere or you can check ebay.
