The real hills are in Flag, if you've been there you would know what I mean. Don't get me wrong I am definitely NOT knocking the dunes, but I would not be able to say which place I like better. For an all out skill and hill climb nothing touches the cinders. The dunes are great for dragging, riding and overall fun but it is nice to have a challenge sometimes like the cinders where you may bury up because you just don't have enough hp.

I guess we would have to call you a diehard. I have a friend that relocated to Port Arthur (I think thats it) he come every other year @ T-G and we get a week to catch up; his drive is 1500 I belive. I guess I shouldn't whyn about 220 (3.5hrs.)

I've been to the cinders and IMO it sucks. I don't think that I'd ever go back. Just wasn't my kind of riding. Yes the hills are awesome but they're not worth the dust, dirt, filth, etc. Plus the wear and tear on the bikes.....

We'll be at Gordon's Well if you change your mind and want to come get you some.

Dust??? You must have went at the wrong time of the year. Right now you would have to stick your face and bury it in the ground for a lick of dust. Like every place, it's seasonal. I've been to the dunes where it was impossible to get out of the vehicle due to sand storms, but it did not suck. You can ride five foot behind the person in front of you @ the right time in the cinders, where you can't in the dunes or you'll get blasted w/ sand from paddles. Don't knock a place if you've only been there once!
