YFZ 450 Sticky Shifting...
Anyone having trouble with their transmission on their YFZ 450? Mine seems to be sticking when shifting from 1st to 2nd. Per what I read it seems to be a burr on the shift drum. The threads also mentioned that this same problem had happened to the YZ dirt bikes.

YFZ 450 Sticky Shifting...
Hmmm I'd think if it was a clutch problem it would have problems in all different gears.....????? Also, I tried re-locating the shifter lever lower thinking I wasn't getting enough throw out of it and it still had the same problem....??? Any one else having problems???

YFZ 450 Sticky Shifting...
Update: I dropped off the YFZ a week ago to the dealer. They just called earlier today, said they rode it and they couldn't get the tranny to stick on them. I told they guy it was probably due to the minimal riding area (alley about 40 yards long) they had. He started hemming and hawing that unless it failed for him, Yamaha wasn't going to do much about it. I told him to call them and discuss it with them. I mentioned things like: 01 Raptor tranny problems, reading about other people having like/similar problems on web sites, and that I had bought the "extended warranty" due to this being the 1st year for this ATV. I also told him I paid the price of a new one and didn't think I was going to get stuck with a piece of krap. He said he's call them, run it by them and call me back. Well, he called back within the hour and said that they would cover the tear down & repair. He said Yamaha told him that they have experienced this problem. Yamaha said it was more than likely the "Shifting Pawl Limiter Plate". Now I just sit and wait..........
