Default Piston and Cam

Austin. If you decide to go 10.75.1 JE let me know; i've got the used one that come out of my motor before I went to the higher compression JE. The piston was in the bike about 4 to 5 months with not a lot of time on it and i'll let it go for 60.00 to your door. The piston is in excellent condition. If you want it or anybody else wants it just let me know. Thanks Slim

Default Piston and Cam

I had the 11:1 piston & Stage I Hotcam setup & my Raptor made good mid top end power. I recently dynoed it & made 48hp & 39 lb-ft torque but it only made 4-5hp over stock up to about 5k rpm, then it friggin takes off. As a result I am upgrading to a 12:1 piston & getting the head ported/valve job. I should see better bottom with the 12:1 & the head work should push it over the 50 hp mark. If you want reliable power & still run pump gas, the 11:1 piston & stage I cam is the way to go. But if you are like most of us, you will quickly get used to the power & if you have a choice, I would go with at least a 12:1 piston & stage I cam. The only down side to the 12:1 is you'll need to run race gas or at least have to mix it.

From the Dyno results I have seen & the people I have talked to, the stage II hurts bottom end unless you compensate with a big bore. Some people like it though. JMO

With a 12:1 JE 102mm, hotcams stage 2, porting, and FCRs I dynoed at 58RWHP with 47 ft lbs torque. The dyno sheet is in my photos on this site. At my last dune trip I had no problems beating alot of the modded Shees and only the pure drag bikes were untouchable by me. I didnt even have the bottom end dialed in yet as it's too rich and stumbles but the huge midrange and unreal top end compensated nicely. Are you planning a 686 or stock bore?
