Best Getaway Quad? (other than a 450, too much $$$)
#1
I live around the Columbia region here in Missouri. Me and my buddies ride tons of gravel roads and occasionally some highways (paved roads). We also ride just about anywhere we can, one big problem is there is no where for us to ride legally. So we pretty much ride where ever, with the exception we do take into account damaging other people's property. (that's not right) But we tend to get chased occasionally down gravel roads, and usually have to get and run pretty fast. I was thinking of getting a Banshee would it be a suitable quad for these needs. (tight trails are very rare) Would it be reliable enough to run pretty hard down these gravel roads for a little bit with mods and proper maintence? I always here about people blowing them up, is that just because of poor maintence? or what? Then i've heard people say that two strokes or banshees tend to load up while riding at slower speeds, what do they mean? Last but not least how often is a rebuild required, and what does it usually include? (I usually ride two or three times a week for three or four hours) Oh yeah i've also heard the are prone to overheating, is there any truth in that? Any Info is helpful, thanx

You could get a 250R mines been really reliable to me and you dont have to rebuild THAT much for your type of riding, or you could get a quad racer, anything that has some power and suspenion.

Find someplace legal to ride. It's not cool to run from the cops and give atvers a bad rep. Maybe you'll have to drive a trailered quad somewhere for a couple hours but if you're willing to look I'm sure you'll find someplace. I drive 2.5 hours to go to the dunes, a bit less to trail ride. Anyhow to the other point Banshees are fast, fun, and reliable. With the stock exhaust they are very quiet yet pretty quick. Also an elude charge will be no fun to deal with, taking your citation is far less trouble than running from the police, of course I'm assuming that's who you'll be runing from....
