arrgh!...head hurt...Kuz28 smash!
i'm trying to keep up guys...but it's like trying to take a sip out of a fire hose.
i've got a JE piston and stage1 hotcam on the way...so im trying hard to hang.
why do you need to rejet or adjust the carb when your just compressing air?

If you are moving more air, then you must adjust your fuel input accordingly. I started 10 sizes higher and dialed in from there when I went with the Stage 1 and stock bore 10.75 JE.

sixsixT, yes it is, but you would still get the same effect, or close. It would have the spark firing at the same time (I think). If you retard the cam six degrees or advance the ignition six wouldn't that be firing at the same time???
I think I am going to get one to try before spending $400 on a new ignition, to see if it helps with the methanol.
Slotting the gear still won't cure the decomp. problems.
Bartlett you run without the auto decomp, right? Care to comment on how it starts/runs????
You modded some part of it right...maybe a Ford coil...???

Ward, I thought it would have the same affect too but I wasnt sure so I wanted to here some others comment on this. I am thinking of doing the 6 degrees retard on mine while running high amounts of additives to see if it will help and hopefully it will allow higher revs. Any reccomendations on how to do away with the rev limiter all together not just in reverse thats pretty simple to do? Its a company on ebay that sells a kit you install with a switch so you can turn on and off the rev limiter when you want and they want 20.00 dollars for the kit. I suspect it is pretty simple I just need to know how and save 20.00 dollars. Slim

You can try it but I bet its a waste of $20 and only does away with the reverse limiter. When I first saw that kit and checked the feedback for the first person to buy it I saw feedback was left only minutes after the auction for both buyer and seller. If it will make your raptor as fast as that guys shipping them its worth $2000
99% of raptors cant touch the limiter in 5th anyway so there isnt really a way to check your extra 5mph. its marketing.
